Sigma Chi Theta Iota Alumni – Constantine Properties

Sigma Chi Theta Iota Chapter’s Alumni Group, Constantine Properties, Inc. strives to provide stability and structure to the future of our chapter. Constantine Properties is comprised of a group of dedicated alumni who volunteer their time to promote the future of the brotherhood at SLU for many years to come. Our recent endeavor has forced us to call upon our fellow alumni brothers to take part in our donations program to secure financing for the renovation of our Fraternity House. Our vision for the house is as follows:

  • Provide safe and attractive living arrangements for undergraduates and their parents
  • Offer cost and quality of living comparable to campus dorms and apartments
  • Encourage upper classmen to live in the house rather than apartments and grant privacy bedrooms for seniority holders
  • Maintain a full house and waiting list to ensure stable cash flows
  • Increase house capacity from 15 to 20 brothers, thereby increasing rent revenues
  • Improve property value through enhancements
  • Connect the three downstairs units to form a lounge, two study areas, and two kitchens
  • Convert the second floor of the house into sleeping quarters
  • Surpass safety requirements for Risk Management by installing new electrical wiring and a sprinkler system

First question that comes to your mind is how much? We are looking for each alumni brother to donate whatever he can. We are trying to secure financing of $400,000. In order to secure this loan, we need put up $100,000. Although a large amount, this basically comes down to $250 from each Theta Iota Alumni. Ideal to us, but we are grateful for any amount. The severity of our situation cannot be underestimated. In the past, the House Corporation has negotiated for time extensions on our commercial loan since the original note matured in 1998. Now, we have been given the following ultimatum: Either combine the current loan with the new renovation loan and refinance them together ($400,000 total loan value) or raise $100,000 (25% of the total loan value) from alumni brothers!!!

Second question now should be what if I don’t have $250 to donate all at once? We have set up a program with Paypals donation package that will allow you to donate an equal amount each month over the next 6 months. It will be billed directly to your credit card. No hassle, no reminders, just good feelings about helping to build for your future brother.
